First Tournament = 3rd place!

The OSU Women's Volleyball Club picked up their first win in two seasons as well as a 3rd place finish at the SIVA Northern division conference tournament this past weekend. 11 teams from Texas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma participated, hosted by the University of North Texas in Denton. Emily Pearce and Karis Peelen led the attack with 21 kills apiece over the 11 sets played during the day and Kelva Hunger added 16 kills. After a slow start with a loss to SFA, the girls took their first victory beating the UNT-B team and continued to play better as the day went along. After splitting with the TCU-A team, OSU was seeded 7th in bracket play. The momentum from a strong comeback in the first round carried over into the quarterfinal match-up against the Arkansas-B team. The girls played one of their best games, attacking at 0.600 with 12 kills on 20 attempts and no hitting errors. That win put OSU into the semi-finals and a rematch with SFA. Both teams battled hard as SFA took the first set and OSU took the second, but SFA prevailed in the 3rd. The cowgirls finished 6-5 (sets) overall. Congrats on a successful tournament!
